Teach Self Control Kids
Before Professional Sports, a College Degree is a Must?

I strongly feel that one qualification every person should have before playing any professional sport is a college degree. I feel this way because a lot of professional sport stars dishonor the game they play. It saddens me when basketball stars say,”I can’t take a 14 million dollar deal because I GOT KIDS TO FEED” or “49 million dollars over 7 years to catch a football is a terrible contract.” This to me is simply mind boggling. How can you not sustain a family with just a million dollars, and these players are getting paid at least 10 times that. 95% of amercians would love to come home with their paychecks. Not to mention the bad PR records these athletes have in the media. (i.e. Sprewell, T.O., Ron Artest) Getting a college degree teaches disipline, self control, and a strive for pursuit, which a lot of players espcecially in the NBA lack. I like Le Bron James, but I still think he should of went to college. School would of helped him flourished more as an individual. Thoughts?

I disagree. Requiring a college degree won’t change the way most athletes act.
